The Moniker - great food & drink in the heart of the city

The Moniker by Drake & Morgan, located in Lime Street, moments from Monument and Fenchurch Street stations, is the perfect bar and restaurant in the heart of the bustling City.

We stopped by on a busy Wednesday night and had a superb time. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and the carefully crafted dishes on the menu lived up to all expectations.

We ordered the moreish sticky chicken wings and delicious chorizo scotch eggs to start, followed by the extremely indulgent gnocchi mac n cheese and popular wagyu beef burger for mains. Even though we were stuffed we made sure to make room for dessert which was a gooey brownie and a warm berry crumble both served with ice cream.

Open Monday to Friday The Moniker also caters for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. The varied menu features small plates, sharing boards, gourmet sandwiches and burgers as well as an exciting range of seasonal salads.

We opted for a full bodied Rioja to accompany our meal but if you’re looking for something else there’s also premium spirits, craft beers and ciders as well as The Moniker’s signature botanical cocktails to choose from.

The ambience of the place is all modern luxury with custom designed wallpaper, soft moody lighting and a selection of fabrics and textures thrown over the seating areas. It’s definitely a popular place with happy diners and an after work crowd all looking to wind down and relax.

The Moniker is also available for private events and parties with a secluded area tucked away at the back which you can hire out for an extra special occasion.

It’s a great restaurant in the heart of London and one that we’d definitely recommend checking out!
